Scope and sources
We cover publicly advertised local events in the three regional editions. We prefer organizer and venue sources, and use municipal, tourism, library and community calendars to find and cross-check details. Each listing keeps an original-source link. A public listing needs enough information to identify the event, its date and its location; missing details are not invented.
Verification and bilingual copy
Source suggestions remain private until an authorized reviewer has verified that the public source is genuine, relevant and not a duplicate. Approved sources join the research list. Individual events require separate source, date/time, location and duplicate checks and English/French copy before publication. Automated extraction is an aid, not approval. Private notes and contact information must not be copied into public listings.
Official event titles are retained. French descriptions explain the same confirmed facts; the language of the event is identified only when known. Verification dates record when the source was checked, not the date the page happened to be viewed. Recurring programs may have changing schedules; consult the source for individual sessions.
Corrections and uncertainty
Send corrections to info@smurphy.ai with an event URL and a current source. Conflicting dates, unverified venues, prices or cancellation claims are resolved against the source or left unstated. Expired events leave upcoming calendars. A past detail page may remain as an archive and is labelled accordingly.
Event structured data is emitted only on individual event pages when the required details have been verified. It matches visible facts. Seasonal hours, vague recurring schedules and unverified cancellations are not turned into speculative Event markup.
Independence and submissions
Advertising is disabled. Future advertisements or sponsored entries must be clearly labelled and kept distinct from editorial listings. Payment does not substitute for verification. We may reject duplicates, misleading promotions, private events, unsupported claims or material outside the local coverage area.
Send a public calendar or events-page link, its coverage areas and an optional note through the source form. Use the contact email for corrections. Submissions are checked before publication; we do not promise complete coverage or a turnaround time. Submit only material you are entitled to share.
