Browsing the calendars

The public calendars do not require an account. Search text and area/type filters are processed in your browser and are not sent to an analytics service. No mailing list, additional analytics service or advertising is enabled.

Netlify hosts the website, serves its files and runs its server functions. Hosting and security systems can process technical request information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, time and error logs. These operational records support delivery, troubleshooting and security; their retention is governed by Netlify’s service settings and policies.

Source suggestions and earlier event submissions

The source-suggestion form collects a public calendar or events-page link, the regions it covers and an optional note. It does not ask for your name or email. A hidden honeypot helps reject automated submissions. Records include a reference ID, timestamps, review status, verification checks, reviewer identity and private research notes.

Source suggestions are stored privately in Netlify Blobs for authorized review. An approved source may appear publicly with its name, link, coverage areas and source-check date. Visitor notes and reviewer research notes are never included in the public source registry. Do not put personal or sensitive information in the optional note.

Suggesting a source does not automatically fetch its page or publish events. Reviewers research approved sources, verify individual public events and prepare English and French copy before publication. Previously submitted event records and their private contact fields remain available for review under the retention rules below.

Contact email and reviewer accounts

Messages sent to info@smurphy.ai are handled through the public contact mailbox and are used to respond to your request. A mailto link opens your own email application; the website does not send an email automatically. Do not email passwords or sensitive personal records.

Reviewer access uses Netlify Identity and Google sign-in. Those services process authentication information, and the site checks the reviewer’s email against an access list. Authentication cookies keep reviewers signed in. Public visitors do not need to sign in.

Retention and service providers

Pending submission contact details are kept while awaiting review. A daily Netlify job removes the submitter name, submitter email and private research notes from reviewed records once the last review is at least 90 days old. Public event copy, review status and verification history may remain so the listing and its editorial record can be maintained. Reviewer account information is used for access and review accountability.

Visitor source notes and private source-review notes are removed 90 days after the last review. Approved public source information may remain for ongoing research. A privacy choice saved in your browser has a 180-day expiry and is not sent to us. Operational logs, service-provider backups and email records have separate retention under their respective systems. Contact us for a deletion request; these may need separate handling.

Netlify provides hosting, functions, Blobs storage and reviewer identity. Google provides reviewer authentication. Contact correspondence is handled through the public contact mailbox. These providers may process data outside Canada. We do not sell submission contact details or use them for a mailing list or targeted advertising. We may disclose information when required by law.

Your choices and requests

You can browse without submitting information, remove browser storage in your browser settings, and contact info@smurphy.ai to request access, correction or deletion of information you provided. Include your submission reference if available; we may need to verify that a request concerns your information.

External event, ticket, municipal and social links open independent websites with their own privacy practices. No external maps, videos or social widgets are embedded in the calendar. If advertising or analytics is introduced, this policy and the consent controls must be updated before those services start.
